Joan Williams, Aesthetician

Joan is a licensed aesthetician who is a very well trained skin therapist. She recently completed over 600 hours of education and training in the care and treatment of skin. She also has had additional training by the International Dermal Institute in Advanced Dermalogical Systems. Prior to Joan's aesthetician training, she had over three years of experience working in the healthcare field, which was a major influence in her decision to further her education and become an aesthetician.

Skin Analysis and Evaluation

We analyze your specific skin type, determine moisture content, elasticity, damage, premature aging and other concerns. A skin scanner is used to observe the surface and deeper layers of the skin. We use a magnifying lamp to note structural changes, blemishes and damaged blood vessels. Following this, we do a deep pore cleansing, exfoliate the dead skin cells, personalize a masque treatment and moisturize the skin. We discuss home care and current skin care products, and make recommendations as to your specific needs. This evaluation is done with new clients before any clinical services are performed.

European Facial

This is the ultimate in relaxation. Your face is cleansed, exfoliated and conditioned. You receive an extensive massage treatment on the face, neck and shoulder areas. We use aromatherapy and essential oils to enhance the benefits of this stress-reducing therapy. If you truly need pampering, this is it!

Also included is the parifn hand treatment. The hands are sanitized, moisturized and dipped in a warm paraffin bath. We wrap your hands and let them set for 10 minutes. The heat drives the moisture into the skin. The paraffin is removed and another moisturizer is applied with soothing massage strokes. Hand treatments are complimentary for first time aesthetic patients or added to any service for a minimal fee.

Clinical Acne Facial

This is fantastic when you need a little extra attention to details. Everything is customized to your specific needs, whether it is extensive moisturizing, replenishing the skin’s vitamins and minerals, or if you have a few breakouts that need to be extracted. We tailor this therapy around each individual.

Chemical Peels

This is a surface peel using glycolic acid. No anesthetics are needed and only a mild burning sensation is felt. This treatment is beneficial for those who need deeper exfoliation of dead skin cells. It acts as a humectant, enabling the skin to retain its moisture balance more efficiently. It is frequently done in a series of six peels.

Acne Back Treatment

This is like a facial for your back! It is ideal for special occasions when you’ll be showing more of your back. This is true whether you are wearing an evening gown with a low-cut back or a swimsuit. We will analyze the skin, treat blemishes, cleanse and moisturize the skin to achieve maximal benefits. We also include a relaxing massage. Your back will be toned and hydrated, helping you to look and feel your best.

Professional Make-up Consultation

We use the Jane Iredale skin care line that is made up of micronized minerals, which contributes to the health of your skin. This makeup allows your skin to breathe and function normally. It does not clog your pores, is non-drying, calms irritation, is anti-inflammatory, protects your skin and is ideal for sensitive skin and post-surgery patients.
